Refocus That Please - by Mike Griffith

Last month we had some great views shown. The following were the winners:

1st        Bird Theater in Richmond, Va.        -    Larry Moor

2nd       City Square, Austell, GA                  -    Kirk Charles

3rd        Curacao, Dutch West Indies            -   Larry Moor

Hon. Mention        Ship Shape, Venezuela    -    Huck DeVenzio

Hon. Mention        Paradise Harbor, Antarctica            -    Steve Hughes

There were some really fantastic stereoviews, and it continues to amaze me that a club as small as ours has so much talent. I just wish I could encourage more of you to enter the Competition.  This month is Viewmaster time. Larry has some packets from the IMAX 3-d, and I'm bringing some scarcer reels. So anything you have in the field that's interesting, or you just want to see how they look projected, bring them along. There is a lot out there and most of us need to be aware of other fields. When you read just the titles, oftentimes they don't give any idea of actual content.

This month's meeting is the 2nd Friday, February 9, 2001 at the Church.  Dave Horton has the refreshments for this meeting. Hope to see you all there.

Remember too, that its Dues paying time. So have those checks and cash ready for Marilyn.  Its now the new millennium (no matter how you count) so plan to do great things.  See Ya'll on the 9th at the Congregational Church on Clairmont Road.

Remember, the meeting is Friday, February 9th at 7:30 at the Congregational Church.  The church is at 2676 Clairmont Road (about 1 1/2 blocks south of I-85).

Editor’s note:

At the January meeting, we discussed  distributing the newsletter via E-mail, with snail mail just for those without E-mail.  This has two advantages.  You get the newsletter faster and the club saves money.  the major use of your dues are paying for the meeting place, memberships to make the club eligible for contests and mailing the newsletter.  Since the newsletter just conveys information, we can cut the cost by sending most notices for free.

So, if you have E-mail, please send me a note at WHMoll@aol.com   We started a collection of these at the January meeting, but still send me a note anyway.  For those without an E-mail for personal notes, we will continue to send out a paper newsletter.
