Refocus That Please - by Bill Moll

This month’s program will be the Show & Tell, Chromadepth 3D, 3DFest 2005 planning and View-Master night.  This is still daylight savings time, so the meeting will start with Show & Tell.  Bring in your summer acquisitions to share with your mates.  Following Show & Tell, Bonnie Jean Woolger will give a workshop on Chromadepth 3D.  Last year’s workshops were all technical.  We want to add some creative workshops this year. (A hit of the NSA Convention was a couple participation workshops on 3D drawing.)

After the break we will take a few minutes to start planning for the 3DFest 2005 on February 12. Then, the program that we all love dearly – View-Master projection.  Although Larry will bring some reel goodies, the success of the show depends upon the audience bringing interesting reels to show.  Try not to repeat last year’s reels and avoid the common stuff.  Bring in the good ones.

The report on the May meeting was in the August newsletter, which Steve and Suzanne Hughes published.  (They have declined an invitation to be permanent publishers.)

The meeting is the 2nd Friday of this month – September 10.  Dodo Griffith will provide the refreshments. We will meet at 7:30 PM at the Congregational Church @ 2676 Clairmont Road (about 1 1/2 blocks south of I-85) This is the Church up the winding road, through the woods.  If you have any questions, call Bill @ 706-859-7726.

Dues are past due!!!! Pay them to Marilyn Morton.  Also, volunteer for refreshments for the fall meetings.

Meeting place and time

I know that this is an old topic, but we have outgrown the current church room.  We need a new place to meet.  I have found three – one in Gilmer County and two in Chattooga County.  Since these are not very central, we need to continue looking.  We need  room for 50-60 people (the projection uses up lots of space and we need to plan for growth to about 40 attendees).  To help in growth and in locating a spot, it needs to be available on Monday or Friday night.  Many people have a social life and can’t make it on Friday night J

Look for a community room in a bank or a back banquet room in a restaurant – someplace which new members can find and feel comfortable coming to and isn’t too tough to get to.  We can pay a bit, but we aren’t wealthy (see dues note above).
