Refocus That Please - by Bill Moll

This month’s program will be Club Competition Night for slides and cards and a special Bert Arps show.  The last competition was in May, so you should have a bunch of great 3D to share this month.  The judge hasn't been selected yet.  This will be your last chance for many months to compete with the Hughes', since they are going to Ecuador for an extended stay.

In case you haven't heard, Bert Arps is going to move back to his ancestral home in Napoleon, Ohio.  Dodo has convinced him to do a special show of his slides from over the years.  This should be a great show – so don't miss it.  I don't think that Bert will drive the 600 miles back to Georgia just do another one.

Marilyn is going to do special refreshments for Bert, which should be another attraction.  Now, if Bert shows up at the November meeting, don't think that he told a story just for a piece of cake and a party.  His departure date depends upon some events which are outside of his control.  We wanted to get the show in now so that we didn't miss out in seeing his material again.

The meeting is the 2nd Friday of this month – October 14. We will meet at 7:30 PM at the Congregational Church @ 2676 Clairmont Road (about 1 1/2 blocks south of I-85) This is the Church up the winding road, through the woods.  If you have any questions, call Bill @ 706-859-7726.

September meeting report:

There were 14 people at the September meeting.  For show and tell, Steve Hughes demonstrated his new digital camera, Mike Griffith talked about some new (antique) acquisitions, Uwe displayed his progress on lenticular phantograms, and my memory fails me on the several other items, but they were quite interesting and you missed out if you weren't there.

The View-Master projection included the "The Strange Case of Dr. Addison and the Crosswell Twins", some great 1950's airplane images, Miami before the InterContinental Miami hotel was built and other images from the past.
