Refocus That Please - by Bill Moll

This month’s program will be the judging the International Stereo Club Competition, 4th Georgia 3D Fest planning and a macro stereo workshop.  Since we are judging, we can't enter this time J  The 3D Fest will be held Saturday, February 17, at the Holiday Inn Conference Center in Decatur, the site of the 2nd 3D Fest.  It will include a trade fair, exhibits, workshops and projection.  Tentatively, we are planning a special evening projection, highlighting a specific photographer.  The workshop demo will include a Realist Macro, Macro Realist, Techno-Nimslo and slide bar with single camera.

The meeting is the 2nd Friday of this month – November 10. We will meet at 7:30 PM at the Congregational Church @ 2676 Clairmont Road (about 1 1/2 blocks south of I-85) This is the Church up the winding road, through the woods.  If you have any questions, call Bill Moll @ 706-859-7726.

October meeting report:

There were 18 attendees. Bert Arps started the show-and-tell with his newest slide viewer which will view both Realist and 2x2 slides.  David Horton showed us his new book and Bill Travis gave a review, based on the book which he had ordered at the October meeting.  The club agreed to have a major 3D Fest this year, even if the club would probably lose a considerable amount of money.  Everyone committed to work on the 3D Fest.

Larry Heyda gave a demonstration of his Advantage 3D camera.  It is based on a Casio digital camera and a prism, similar to the old Tri Delta (or Prism) device.  It has a variable interocular and a provision for using the limited camera flash to fire a decent slave flash.  The images appear feet-to-feet, instead of side-by-side for a usual beam splitter.  StereoPhotoMaker has an option to convert the Tri Delta format images to standard format.   Shellie and Bill Travis provided refreshments.

Larry Heyda was also our competition judge.
