Refocus That Please - by Bill Moll

This month’s program will be Club competition, and a demonstration of StereoPhotoMaker, the free 3D software from Japan.   The club competition is for Realist format slides and Holmes, DSEC or ViewMagic format cards. If you bring ViewMagic format cards, remember to bring a viewer, because we won't be providing one.  We didn't have a card competition last time because only two people brought cards, so dust off your printer and bring some new material.

Our guest judge will be Bob Kyle. Bob has had a long and diverse experience with 3D imaging. This includes a large anaglyph-sort-of image displayed at the High Museum.  Bob was one of the new-to-ASA 3D people who came to the 3D Fest.

Bert is really going to go back to Ohio this spring, so we need to elect a new vice-president.

The meeting is the 2nd Friday of this month – March 10. We will meet at 7:30 PM at the Congregational Church @ 2676 Clairmont Road (about 1 1/2 blocks south of I-85) This is the Church up the winding road, through the woods.  If you have any questions, call Bill Moll @ 706-859-7726.

January meeting report:

There were about 20 attendees. Our guest judge was Jeff Mather, with the Fulton County School Arts Program.  His comments related to the use of space – which has been a common factor for the different art-oriented judges which we have had in past competitions.  The slide mounting demonstration had just begun when the church was closed – it is now closed 15 to 30 minutes earlier than previously.  We will need to either find another meeting place, get the process for locking up or talk faster.

3rd Annual Georgia 3D Fest report:

The turnout was smaller than last year. We didn't have a trade fair so there were no out-of-towners.  The displays, workshops and shows were of good quality and interesting.  We had 6 or 7 new people come by who are interested in 3D and the club members who worked at the 3D Fest had a good time, so I think that it was a success.  Next year, we need to have the 3D Fest in a different venue which will allow a larger program as we had last year
