Refocus That Please - by Bill Moll

This month will be competition night for both 41x101 slides and cards.  In the previous competition, two slides depolarized the light, so they had to be withdrawn from the competition.  I don’t know how to check this without projecting them, but we currently aren’t setup to project them (the polarized filters are behind the slide).  I will do a little research and try to get a list of films which do depolarize light and put it in the next newsletter.

This month's meeting is the 2nd Friday of this month – January 9. We will meet at the Congregational Church @ 2676 Clairmont Road (about 1 1/2 blocks south of I-85) This is the Church up the winding road, through the woods.  If you have any questions, call Bill @ 706-859-7726.

There are several potential club projects which we need to plan for.  Some are old ones, some suggested by club members and one is mine.

·              Larry is out of slides for the inter-club slide competition.  We need to replenish this, preferably with winners.

·              Shows by club members need to be added to the programs.  Now Larry carries the entire load.

·              The ISU Club Folio Circuit needs 10 slides.

·              We need to discuss sponsoring a Regional NSA/PSA Exhibition/3DFest in 2005

Next month we will return to a four page newsletter.  The holidays have interfered with this month’s schedule.

December meeting report:

Julia Moor arranged a fine Christmas buffet again.  Larry Moor showed three of his shows including one entirely new show.  However, the hit of the evening, IMHO, was Larry’s “through the window” assortment of slides taken over the years.

The new officers are Bill Moll - President, Bert Arps – Vice–President, Marilyn Morton – Treasurer/membership.  Each of the last slates of officers held office for 6-8 years. We might want to rotate in people more frequently in the future.
