The December 12 meeting will be the annual Christmas Party and selections from the Stereo Theater digital projection at the Grand Rapids NSA Convention this past summer. Plan to attend since the material is really superb 3D.
November meeting Report:
The November meeting began with some announcements. A report was given on our second appearance at Fernbank, things went very well, and we are to return in April 2009, for Girl Scout Day. We switched programs for November, and we had Larry’s always entertaining View Master night, and I did a workshop of 1950’s era slide mounting, which was mainly showing off my Stereo Realist collection of slide mounts, slide mounting kit, as well as all the boxes their equipment came in.
Next month we will have our Christmas Party, and Steve and Suzanne will project digital images to entertain us. The digital competition that was originally scheduled for November is to be rescheduled at a later date to be determined.
We discussed the exhibits at Fernbank and our future in doing them. There is enough interest to keep this effort going, and these table displays may be the only exhibit that Fernbank will allow us to present. We also discussed the possibility of working with a movie theater for a special 3-D movie night sponsored by our club. This will take quite a bit of organization and planning. I will discuss the possibility of this with the owner of the Plaza Theater, at the corner of North Highland and Ponce De Leon. Larry mentioned a theater where they showed a 3-D movie in the past. This could be a very good project for us, but it will take a good team, much like the team we have assembled twice for the Fernbank events, (this is a not so subtle hint for the need for volunteers). See you all in December for a good Christmas party, and some amazing digital projection.

The meeting is the 2nd Friday of this month – December 12th. We will meet at 7:30 PM at the Congregational Church @ 2676 Clairmont Road (about 1 1/2 blocks south of I-85) This is the Church up the winding road, through the woods.
