Refocus That Please - by Bill Moll
This month’s program will be Paul Wing’s Old China show and Steve Hughes’ Slide Mounting Workshop. Old China is from a scrapbook of excellent stereo views taken in China around 1905. Larry tells me that it was shown at an ASA meeting years ago, but I don’t remember seeing it then, so you probably don’t either. After the break, Steve Hughes will give a slide mounting workshop. It really isn’t that difficult once you get the hang of it. Steve will show you how.
There were 18 people at the March meeting. Club Competition results were:
Slides:
1st Coleman River Ken Kistner
2nd Iguasu Falls Doc Edwards
3rd Frigate Bird Joyce Edwards
HM Cappadocia Joyce Edwards
HM The Sentry Suzanne Hughes
Cards:
1st Bikes Bill Moll
2nd All are Welcome Ken Kistner
HM Ice Flows Suzanne Hughes
Marilyn Morton was the judge. Joyce and Doc Edwards set a new club record by entering a slide from each continent. Steve Hughes reminded everyone of the NSA convention in Irving, Texas, in July. Try to attend – it is good fun – and Texans are very hospitable to visitors. The club voted for a 3rd 3D Fest.
The meeting will be 7:00 PM on MONDAY, April 11, at the Chamblee Public Library. Note that the day, time and place have all changed. The library is located at 4115 Clairmont Road in Chamblee. From I-285 take exit 31A onto Peachtree Industrial Blvd heading south. In 1.8 miles turn left on Clairmont Rd. The library will be on your left in about ½ mile. From I-85 take exit 91 heading North on Clairmont Rd. The library will be on your right in about 3 miles. The entrance is in back and the doors are locked at
8 PM, so don’t be too late. The May meeting will also be at the Chamblee Library on a Monday – May 9. The program will Club Competition and the PSA Sequence Show.
Welcome to new members Joyce and Doc Edwards and Milton Brown. Each meeting we have a couple new people come. The great part is that everyone who starts coming contributes something new in shooting or collecting or viewpoint. Also, at the last meeting 1/3 of the attendees were women. That makes it a lot more comfortable for more women to join. My 1/8 theory may have to change to the ¼ theory.
If you would like to provide refreshments in April or May, call Marilyn Morton at 404-815-6798.
